In order to make it easier for an installer to understand expanded zone
reporting, an explanation and an illustrative example are given first.
Bearing in mind that a 2-digit reporting code is utilized, let us discuss
how zones 1-17, Duress, Zone Expander Supervisory, and the 3 keypad
panics (1 & *, 3 &#, and * &#) can be coded. The recurring theme of
the following information is that the leading digit represents the type of
event being reported and the second digit identifies the zone within that
type.
NOTES:
1, Two-digit entries are required because hexadecimal entries are
allowed (O-9, B-F) = (00-15) for fields 72-81
2 Users of the Ademco CAPS Automation System are cautioned not to
assign 78 or 8C for any report, as these codes are reserved.
3 If Ademco High Speed Format IS selected in either Addresses *46
or *48 and the 4+2 Expanded Zone Format is selected in Address
*53, a very fast 4+2 Format is created that uses DTMF (Touchstone@)
signalllng instead of pulses. Actually, 9 digits are transmitted but only
